Aleister Crowley - The Great Beast Speaks - 1920

"Em 1942 Crowley escreveu um poema em frânces de apoio à Resistência Francesa e mandou imprimir mil cópias, uma das quais foi enviado ao general Charles de gaulle, então no exílio. De Gaulle respondeu com um breve cartão de agradecimento. Crowley tentou arrumar um compositor para musicar o poema, o que não chegou a acontecer. Era o nascimento do mercado fonográfico, e ele não resistiu a entrar em um estúdio e gravar sua leitura do Hino a Pã, além de mantras e cânticos mágicos. Na década de 1990, foi lançado o CD The Great beast Speaks, que reúne esse material fonográfico" (Heyss, 2010, p.212)
